Narch Detroit Qualifier
Team Recaps!

Revision Buffalo Wings Legends - Pro
Welcome
back to the tournament scene, the guys of the Revision Buffalo Wings Legends
adult team! For some it has been years since their last tournament appearance,
but by the looks of their performance in the Narch Regional Qualifier at Joe
Dumars Fieldhouse this past weekend, they haven’t missed a beat. The Legends
started off with a strong round robin, taking first seed in the Adult Gold
division, honing victories over Tour Excitement and the Detroit Stars, with
their only loss coming from the Tour Bordercats. With the round robin behind
them, the Legends took the floor for the semi final game against the Detroit
Mission Stars, and Jaimie Buffalino as their starting goaltender. Buffalino was
up for the challenge, stopping numerous shots, despite the top notch power play
performance of Kyle Kozlowski and Geoff Abrahams, and the forceful play in front
of the net by Chris Kendall and John Nowak. Coming off the victory in Narch
Finals in San Jose, California, Richie Latona picked up right where he left off,
proving he is a force to be reckoned with between the pipes with another amazing
tournament showing. Although the Legends were unable to claim victory over
Buffalino and the Detroit Mission Stars, they are hungry for furthered success
and are eager to take the floor of Joe Dumars Fieldhouse for the Tour Cup
Finals!
Revision Buffalo Wings - 16u
With
a roster full of fresh faces hungry to begin their tournament season,
the Revision Buffalo Wings Team 16U, took the floor for the first time
at Joe’s Dumars Fieldhouse participating in the Narch Regional Qualifier
in Detroit, Michigan. The excitement of the tournament experience was
flowing through the locker room and the guys showcased their enthusiasm
in game 1 of the round robin with a stellar victory over Mission Valken
Adrenaline. Patrick Griffin opened up the scoring for the first game and
finished off with a hat trick to add to the statistics sheet! Nick Luh
was a force to be reckoned with against the boards, and Justin Smith had
a stellar performance between the pipes, blocking a flurry of shots.
The guys rallied together as a team, working together as a cohesive unit
all contributing their best individual effort to produce the win.
Stacked against a division of tough competitors, the Revision Buffalo
Wings Team 16U did not see any playoff action, but walked away from this
weekend a little more experienced in the tournament scene and are even
more focused on improving their game and taking it to any willing
competitor trying to stand in their way!
Revision Buffalo Wings - Adult Bronze 2011 Dumars Experience
Memorial
Day weekend marks the unofficial start to the tournament season for the
Revision Buffalo Wings, as many of our teams make the short trip to
Detroit, Michigan taking the floor of the popular Joe Dumars Fieldhouse
for the Narch Regional Qualifier. Enter summer 2011 and the Revision
Buffalo Wings Adult Bronze team, with high hopes of bringing a medal
back to Buffalo. With a tumultuous round robin, the Revision Buffalo
Wings fought tooth and nail to see the wakes of playoff action. In their
first game, the Wings fell to the 2009 Torhs Bronze Division Gold
Medalists, the Danglers by a score of 6-2. In their next match up
against Team Infamous, the Wings took a major hit, as one of their
lethal weapons Ryann Setlock took a misconduct penalty. Even with a
short bench, the team played hard and tied the game, but unfortunately
could not make the big finish and were handed their second loss by a
margin of 5-3. Their final contender of the round robin, the Bad Boys
were certainly in for a run as the Wings knew exactly what they needed
to do to get the job done and advance to the playoffs. Trailing most of
the game, the excitement stirred in the last 4 minutes of the game, as
Taylor Setlock scored 2 quick goals to end regulation in a 3-3 tie,
forcing overtime. A 5 minute overtime period proved to be insufficient
for either team to grab the win, so this one was going to a shoot out.
Eric Werner was spectacular between the pipes, blocking all shots put in
front of him. Ryann Setlock scored the lone goal in the shoot out and
the Wings advanced to the Adult Bronze Championship.
Finishing
the round robin with a 0-1 record, the Revision Buffalo Wings took the
floor for the championship game facing the Can-Am Stars. The Can-Am
Stars have a longstanding history in the roller hockey scene and proved
to be a tough match up for the Wings. Can-Am took the early lead, but
the Wings battled back, closing the gap to within 1 goal at the end of
the first. The Stars opened the second with 2 quick goals, pushing the
Wings even further behind. With the championship in their sights, the
Wings showcased their do or die play, scoring 3 of the next 4 goals to
close the gap on the Stars. With time winding down and both teams
feeling the heat, the Wings pulled their goalie for the extra attacker,
but with less than 30 seconds left in the game, the Can-Am Stars scored
an empty netter and skated away with the championship victory.
Following
a tough, hard fought tournament, the Revision Buffalo Wings took the
silver medal in the Adult Bronze division, but more importantly, they
walked away with a starving desire to win it all!
